Lellow Split Road is an abstract mixed-media work built from scraped paint, layered hand-made marks, crumpled paper, and an abandoned craft stick.
Blue, green, purple, coral, and teal form a worn, muddy landscape across the canvas. Through the center, bright “lellow” lines rise from the bottom before separating around a raised piece of painted green paper. The shape becomes an obstruction, a destination, or something sitting directly where the road divides.
One path bends left. One bends right. Neither explains where it goes.
A paint-covered wooden craft stick remains attached near the bottom of the canvas, preserving part of the process as part of the finished artwork. Like much of Dirt Baby’s work, the piece sits somewhere between an unsupervised childhood craft and an artifact recovered from a place with its own strange rules.
